Wetlands Are Water Security
NAWM's Annual State/Tribal/Federal Coordination Meeting is a national gathering of wetland professionals dedicated to advancing wetland protection, restoration, stewardship, and program development across the country. The 2027 meeting will be held April 26-30, 2027, at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. This year's theme is Wetlands Are Water Security, highlighting the essential role wetlands play in protecting clean water, reducing flooding, supporting resilience, and strengthening communities.
This annual meeting brings together state, tribal, federal, nonprofit, academic, and private-sector wetland professionals to share successes, examine emerging challenges, and explore practical strategies for strengthening wetland programs and advancing wetland conservation. Through presentations, panel discussions, field trips, and informal networking, attendees gain practical insights, connect with peers, and contribute to a national conversation about the future of wetland management.

The National Conservation Training Center, or frequently referred to as NCTC, is located just 60 miles or just over 1 hour outside the Washington DC metropolitan beltway. They are part of the Shepherdstown, West Virginia community also known for the nearby state university just down the road. They are located closest to the Washington Dulles International Airport, but many customers also use Baltimore/Washington International and Reagan National (DC) Airport.
