Overview
This is a combined meeting of MAWWG and NEBAWWG to foster continued collaboration across EPA Regions 1, 2, and 3. Expected attendees are wetlands managers, scientists, or students spanning from Maine to North Carolina and as far west as Ohio. The previous in-person joint meeting in 2018 drew 70 attendees from city, state, tribe, and federal agencies, natural heritage programs, wetland conservation organizations, and academia. Our virtual meeting in October 2021 had more than 75 participants.
Among the many benefits of participation, attendees can expect to gain:
• Learning about new or updated programs, projects, regulations, data sources & policies
• Knowledge exchange and peer review on programs, strategies, methods & tools
• Networking, collaboration, and partnership-building across states/regions

A limited number of scholarships are available to assist those in need to cover travel costs to attend the 2022 MAWWG-NEBAWWG Joint Meeting. Our intent is to support as many people as possible with the limited amount of funding that we have. If you are able to cover some of your costs, that will enable more of our colleagues to attend. The total maximum per person scholarship is $1,000 for three nights of lodging at the MCC and roundtrip travel (some restrictions may apply). For more information and to apply, please go here.
We will be adding additional resources that may be of help during the meeting. Please check the meeting SharePoint Site for the latest resources.
- There is no charge for registration, but all attendees must register for the meeting to attend.
- Meeting attendees will be provided with all meeting sessions at no charge, meeting refreshment breaks (all meals on own), free parking and free WIFI onsite.
- For those with a lodging package only, the cost of breakfast and dinner are included, and lunch is on your own. Meals are not included in registration-only fees. The MCC dining hall is open to all participants at a charge of $15 for breakfast; $20 for lunch and $26 for dinner. The dining hall makes a great place to meet and network!

- Check-in is after 3:00 pm on arrival day. Guests arriving prior to 3:00pm will be accommodated as rooms become available.
- Check-out is by 11:00 am on departure day.
Maritime Conference Center: NAWM has a limited reserved room block, so early reservations are encouraged. Requests for accommodations above and beyond the room block will be considered by the MCC on a space and rate available basis. If the MCC runs out of available rooms, there are nearby hotels available.
If you plan to depart on Friday, May 13th, you will need to make arrangements for Thursday night. A list of hotels near the airports can be found here: Dulles Airport,Reagan National, and BWI.

MAWWG and NEBAWWG have limited financial assistance available to those in need to help defray travel and lodging expenses. Please contact your EPA Regional representative to identify if any of your conference room expenses or travel can be covered.

Maritime Conference Center Amenities
Standard amenities in all accommodations include complimentary Wi-Fi, mini refrigerators, flat- screen televisions with cable channels and comfortable work areas with ergonomic chairs.
Guests also have access to our fitness room, indoor pool, game room, self-service laundry facility, business centers, ATM, sundry shop and Deck Club Lounge.

Transportation and Parking
Just four miles (or ten minutes) from Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport and the BWI Amtrak® Train Station, MCC offers complimentary shuttle service to and from both locations. MCC is also accessible throughout the Mid-Atlantic region via I-95, MD-295 and I-695. Complimentary parking is available onsite.

Dining
Breakfast and dinner are included in lodging package only; those not paying for lodging can purchase all meals at the dining hall or at nearby restaurants. Lunch is “on own” for all participants throughout the meeting.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the MMC’s 500-seat Chesapeake Dining Room daily. Hot breakfast and made-to-order eggs and omelets are available in the morning. Lunch includes fresh fruits and vegetables, salads, signature soups, grill items, gourmet sandwiches and hot entrees. Based on Covid-protocols that are changing over time, food may be pre-packaged or grab and go, depending on COVID-19 protocols. Before dinner, you may order a cocktail and take it with you to enjoy. End your meal with one of the MCCs fabulous desserts, including cakes, pies and ice cream.
