Abstract Submission Instructions

Review Criteria and Process

All abstracts must address wetland-related issues relevant to the agenda topics for the 2025 Annual State/Tribal/Federal Coordination Meeting:

    • The Big Picture for Wetland Protections
    • Tribal Wetlands and Aquatic Resources
    • Restoration & Compensatory Mitigation
    • Climate Change Resiliency & Adaptation
    • Technical Tools & Geospatial Approaches
    • Communications & Outreach
  • Presentations must be designed to share useful findings, case studies, practices or tools relevant to state, tribal and other wetland practitioners.
  • Presentations (other than those by invited guest speakers and panels) must fit within 30 minutes in length, including time for Q&A. Invited speakers and panels will be subject to other specific time constraints.
  • Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the NAWM State/Tribal/Federal Coordination Meeting Planning Committee.
  • There is limited space available on the meeting agenda, therefore not all abstracts will be selected. Selection will be based on the task of developing a relevant, robust and well-balanced meeting agenda, covering a range of key topics of interest to attendees under the umbrella of the 2025 meeting’s building an evergreen future with wetlands theme.
  • Abstracts should be 300 words or less and must be submitted by the Friday, November 1, 2024, deadline for consideration. Abstracts longer than 300 words in length will not be considered.
  • All submittals will receive a response about the status of their abstract by Friday, November 15, 2024.
  • For those abstracts selected for presentation at the meeting, a tentative date and time for each presentation will be sent to presenters when notified. The agenda will be finalized on March 28, 2025, however, dates and times for presentations are subject to change within the conference dates, if needed.
  • Presenters will receive a formal invitation letter with meeting details and guidelines for their presentation.
  • Biography information must be in narrative format; resumé format will not be accepted. (Please limit response to about 250 words or 950 characters.) Biography information can be submitted on the Abstract Form Here.

PLEASE NOTE: All accepted presenters must register for the NAWM State/Tribal/Federal Coordination Meeting. However, accepted presenters will receive NAWM's discounted speaker registration rate. You must be a U.S. citizen to submit an abstract.
